Chicken Salan with Cauliflower



Chicken cauliflower salan is cooked in ghee with onions and tomato puree and garam masala which bring an amazing aroma in every bite...delicious & yummy taste of this salan makes it a unique recipe.

INGREDIENTS


1 whole, skinned chicken (cut into pieces),
1 middle sized Cauliflower,
Ghee 200 gm,
3 medium sized onions (chopped),
Red Chilli powder,
2 tsp ginger and garlic paste,
2 tsp coriander powder,
1 small cinnamon stick,
2 cloves,
2 green cardamoms,
salt-to taste,
½ tsp turmeric powder,
2 tsp cumin powder,
half cup curd,
Tomato puree.

INSTRUCTION



1) Marinate chicken with salt, curd , red chilli powder and 1 tsp oil. Refrigerate it for 1 hour.

2) Seperate the florets from Cauliflower. Add salt after washing & draining completely.

3) Heat ghee in a pan.

4) Add 1/3rd of the sliced onions and cook for few minutes.



5) Add florets and cook over medium heat until cauliflower florets are tender. Keep it aside.









6) Again, heat ghee in another heavy,large pan over medium heat.
7) Add cinnamon stick, cardamoms and cloves.
8) Add remaining of the sliced onions and Cook until onions get soft & turns golden brown.

9) Add ginger garlic paste. Saute it for few minutes.

10) Add marinated chicken and roast it well.

11) Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder into it, mix it and cook well.

12) Add tomato puree and cook for few minutes until ghee leaves the sides. Add little water as required.

13) Add those cauliflower florets ( which we kept aside previously) with chicken and cook for about 15-20 minutes by covering the lid on medium flame until the chicken gets tender.

14) Add garam masala powder into the salan and turn off the flame.

Now chicken cauliflower salan is ready. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot with polao , fried rice, biriyani or plain rice.
