Teriyaki Salmon - Japanese cuisine

I love seafood, especially salmon because it is packed with omega-3 fatty acids which gives a big health benefit. Not only that, this fish is very mild & easy to prepare.
Today I’m going to share Teriyaki Salmon recipe which the Japanese make it at home.

INGREDIENTS

1 tablespoon oil,
4 salmon filets, skinless,

Teriyaki Sauce
6 tbsp soy sauce,
8 tbsp water,
2 tbsp brown sugar,
3 cloves garlic, minced,
1 tbsp ginger, minced,
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar,
1 teaspoon sesame oil,
1 teaspoon cornstarch,
1 tablespoon water

For Garnish
green onions,
sesame seeds

INSTRUCTIONS

1) For making the sauce take a bowl and mix garlic, ginger, soy sauce, water, brown sugar, rice wine vinegar and sesame oil.

2)Reserve half the mixture(sauce) for marinating and the other half for glazing the salmon during cooking. Thats why take half of the mixture into a saucepan and keep aside.

3) Rinse the filets and pat dry.

4) Place salmon filets in the remaining half of the sauce and marinate for 30 minutes.

5) Heat oil in a pan. Add salmon filets(cook two at a time). Cook 3-4 minutes on each side until it's cooked through.

6) Now heat the reserved mixture of the saucepan and bring to a simmer.

7) When the sauce starts to boil add salmon in the pan and spoon the sauce over the filets.

8) Add cornstarch and water to a small bowl and whisk to combine until the sauce thickened.

9) Now turn off the heat and take the salmon filets on a plate and serve with the teriyaki sauce drizzled on top as well as green onions and sesame seeds for garnish.
